Kids have moved out, need to work (school teacher & liquor industry) has moved on and we are ready to move around this great island we share. Jo and I have finished roughly 20 years of community service (local surf club, P & C, environmental defence etc) and, at 60 years of age, are now enjoying some "our time". Have had some limited off road experience in trips to Mt. Moffatt (Carnarvon Gorge) and Fraser Island but now ready for longer ventures. Heading from Tweed coast to NT via central Queensland, Normanton, Burketown, Lawn Hill and then maybe Boroloola, through to NT and usual "must do's" like Mataranka Springs, Kakadu, Litchfield etc and a host of pubs along the way of course! Major interests for 4WD trips are ancient cultures and paintings, photography, fauna and landforms, cold beers in the arvo and good food and wine in the evening.
