Walhalla Overnighter MEDIUM / HARD

Walhalla, VIC

Overnight trip at Walhalla to take on some of the more challenging tracks the area has to offer. Looks like rain is forecast which could make things interesting. Most likely camping at O Tooles on Saturday night then doing a couple of tracks on way out Sunday hope to be airing up around lunch time Sunday.

Good you can come along was hoping you might join in but thought two weeks in a row might be to much to ask 😂 should be a good trip looking like bit of rain coming in Saturday which always make for an interesting weekend. 👍

Gday lads,
Very keen for a trip as our Easter tassie trip was cut short unfortunately we didn’t even make the boat due to gearbox letting go on the way to dock.
I own a house/weekender at Matlock and love the area.
Banging new box in at the moment so hopefully all goes well and I’ll see you all Saturday morn👍
I may bring my 7yr old

If forecast is correct, think you guys will find all the tracks pretty challenging. Am sure you will have a great time and remember a few tracks up that way get seasonally closed from 1st of May. The only one that I suspect will affect you is Trig Tk as it has always been a May 1st closure.

Look forward to seeing the pics & trip report.

Thanks Allan, yeh I remember trig track was closed hopefully this is the only one still close for this period. Hopefully rains a little will keep us all on our toes. Will do a trip report, but I am not the skilled photographer that you are hopefully the others can take care of that. haha.

There is no way on earth I would be taking a camper trailer up that way after rain is forecast and on the tracks we will be driving...
Speaking of tracks what do you have planned Anth ?
Really looking forward to a challenge and going out with a bunch of twin locked 4wds on 35's and 37's after a good dump of rain should be just what is needed !!

Hey Matt, agree with your camper trailer comment. Few of the tracks planned at this stage are fultons, Deep Creek 1&4, Beardmores, Army, S Track and Flats. Maybe add white star, toomstar and toombon on the Sunday.

I personally don’t have a problem with you bringing your dogs. I believe most of the area we are going to is state park so don’t see it as a problem. If I am wrong please anyone feel free to correct me. Cheers

rescue you?? I thought you were bringing a Disco 4...
I have done a little 4wding in mine and trust me assuming it doesn't go into limp mode for some stupid reason you will not need rescuing !!
More likely for the Jeep to brake down and needing rescue :-0
Although I hope you don't have 19" wheels with crappy HT tires or it will spend most of the weekend attached to another car

Yeah I am. Still 19s but ATs. I have a scantool for limp modes haha. And Damos Jeep is pretty awesome. Twin locked headlocks etc. Disco will be fine. Wish I had the Jeep though.

Well what a weekend, thanks to everyone who came along to make it a great weekend with some fantastic people. Glad to hear you got car sorted out Chris awesome news. I know you had a rough weekend with your car but good on you for the way you handled it all. Rodney sorry you couldn't join us for the rest of the trip looking forward to you sense of humour by the camp fire last night. lol. We did some great tracks yesterday I reckon todays tracks were even better so hopefully next time you can join a trip again and I can show you them. Really nice meeting you Bryce and am sure we will be doing a lot more trips together and we will take you up on ur offer when it starts snowing. lol. Matt and Jess as always great to catch up was a fantastic night by the fire last night talking shit. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves.
