BIG RIVER Area - Day trip EASY / MEDIUM

Big River Area, VIC
This is a track check / recon run in prep for some snow runs this year. Suited to new members and beginners. Majority of the tracks are EASY with options to increase difficulty along the way.

Weather conditions may also change difficulity so ensure you are prepared in the event of large rain falls or snow.
This will be a full day hoping to air up around 4:30pm
Please pack food/drinks to be self sufficient.

REQUIREMENTS FOR TRIP

Must have low range no soft roaders / AWD
Minimum AT tyres with decent tread. No highway tyres.
Full recovery gear
Rated recovery points
Uhf either in car or hand held

As always you join these trips knowing damage can occur and this is not the responsibility of the trip leader or 4wdtrip.

Hi Gina, the plan will be to Air up the vehicles at Cumberland Junction around 4:30pm. This will allow people to either travel back via Warburton or Marysville

Good Morning Rahul, currently I have the trip limited to 7 vehicles and the trip is currently full. This means that someone would need to leave before another vehicle can join. Closer to the date I may open up 1 spot depending on a few factors but also keep an eye out in case someone decides to leave the trip. Ill also be running this trip multiple times over the next few months as there is a demand for easy/med trips so keep a eye out.

It's excellent to see all the new members joining this trip! Thanks Nick for leading the trip. Big River is an amazing area, only 2.5 hrs from Melbourne. We have just finished a trip last weekend, it was awesome!

I'll be keen if you run it again in the future (especially if you decide to make it a weekend trip and there's more snow around).

However for this one I'm already attending Kelvin's trip on the same weekend.

Chris,

At this stage I plan on running the trip as is. A number of reasons to this. We are all in our own vehicles. when we stop for lunch / breaks etc we can socially distance within the required numbers and space. For the sake of the 10 person limit rule. There is nothing stopping us being 2 groups. There has been no changes to going camping / 4wding and they still plan on opening the pubs / restaurants and GYMS for 20 people.

Afternoon, everyone. As you have probably seen by now the trip has gotten considerably smaller due to the restrictions imposed by the state government. After consultation with 4wdtrip we had to reduce numbers unfortunately due to imposing fines on the company. While the decision to reduce numbers was not taken lightly and telling members of their removal from the trip was extremely difficult. I'm glad we can still run the trip.

The weather at this stage looks to be fine but cold. If we can aim to be at the meeting point prior to 8am to depart as close to 8am as possible. We will then travel to stockmans reward to air down and have a quick briefing of the day.

If anyone has a chainsaw can I request that you bring it just in case we need it.

Look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.
